Canon Dual Pixel CMOS Sensor & DIGIC 6+ Processing

Canon's aim to deliver high resolution performance in low light situations has been further improved over previous camera generations with the newly developed 30.4MP full frame CMOS sensor. The larger sensor with a higher density of pixels increases overall resolution while mantaining sensitivity. The Canon DIGIC 6+ processor offers an incredible native range of ISO 100-32000 that can be further expanded to ISO 50-102400. Photographers of all kinds will gain from the benefits of a 150,000 pixel RGB+IR metering sensor, which allows the Canon 5D Mark IV to detect the proper exposure in difficult lighting. Improved AF Features:

To ensure your images are tack sharp, ever time the Canon 5D Mark IV uses a High Density Reticular AF System with 61 phase detect points. These points are sensitive to f/8 and 41 are cross type. The center AF works down to -3 EV allowing it to work well in extreme dim lighting. An increased vertical coverage of 24% on th peripherals and 8% in the center over previous 5D cameras, allows you to quickly and accurately locate and track subjects within the image frame. The Live VIew has also been improved. With Dual Pixel CMOS AF on the imaging sensor giving 80% coverage of phase-detection autofocus. This quick and accurate focusing is ideal for videographers. The 3.2" Live View 1.62m-dot screen has full touchscreen tap to focus features.

Dual Pixel Raw:

First used on the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Dual Pixel RAW allows you to record all of the information the Dual Pixel sensor can capture and allows you to make fine adjustments after the image has been taken. Focus fine tuning to adjust focus to finite degrees to bring out specific details, bokeh shift for better composition and reduced ghosting. You will need to use Canon's Digital Photo Professional 4.5 softeware to make these adjustments.

DCI 4K Video Recording & Audio

The Canon 5D Mark IV is an ideal camera for shooting both professional quality still images and shooting 4K cinema quality movies. The 5D supports DCI 4K resolution at 4096x2160 pixels and frame rates up to 30 frames per second at 500 Mbps. You have the option of shooting at full HD 1080p at 60 frames per second, and HD 720p at 120 frames per second to suit any scene. When recording video in camara, 4K video has 4:2:2 sampling and 8 bit color depth. When shooting Full HD 1080p, video has 4:2:0 sampling. You'll be able to save your uncompressed Full HD 1080p via HDMI to an external recorder of your choosing with 4:2:2 sampling. When recording in 4K, the camera utilizes the center 4096x2160 area of the sensor at a 1.74x crop so that recording done at the ideal 1:1 pixel sampling ratio. Full HD will use the entire full frame of the sensor. While shooting in 4K, you can capture 8.8MP still frames during playback directly through the touchscreen.

The built-in stereo microphone captures sound directly and is great for capturing environmental sounds. External mics and monitors can be connected through the standard 3.5mm mic and headphone jacks.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Camera Body Electronics and Additional Features

Large and comfortable to use 1.62m-dot 3.2" Clear View II LCD monitor with an anti-reflective screen design so playback, live view shooting and image previews are bright and clear. This touchscreen uses intuitive controls and special features like tap to focus.

An Intelligent Viewfinder II uses a pentaprism design and offers a bright means for viewing. When using the viewfinder, AF points are highlighted in red for greater visibility in low-light conditions, and the finder can also be configured to display a range of other shooting aids, such as an electronic level, grid, flicker detection, white balance, metering mode, AF information, and other settings.

A Mirror Vibration Control System helps to minimize mechanical vibrations in order to better ensure sharpness during long exposures or fast continuous shooting bursts.

A robust magnesium alloy body design is both dust- and weather-sealed to permit working in harsh environments.

A built-in GPS module allows you to geotag imagery in-camera as well as auto time sync with the Universal Time Code via satellites. This module is compatible with American GPS, Russian GLONASS, and Japanese quasi-zenith Michibiki satellites for a wide coverage of support.

Digital Lens Optimizer technology compensates for a range of optical defects from various lenses, including chromatic aberration, distortion, peripheral brightness, and diffraction, and the camera can store lens data in order to avoid having to re-register lenses prior to each use. The camera can handle this process in real time, delivering JPEGs with the corrections already applied.

A built-in intervalometer permits the creation of time lapse imagery and supports recording 1-99 consecutive frames in pre-selected intervals from 1 second to 99 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds. Users can also choose to set the camera to unlimited frames.

Built-in Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity enable wireless sharing, control, and image transfer with a compatible smart device as well as the CS100 Connect Station.
