The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens couples a classical all-around-best lens design wtih the technological advances of the AF system and slimmer profile making it a faster, smaller lens.  With an STM stepping motor, this 50mm lens is ideal for video or still photography thanks to it's quick, smooth and quiet operation.  The included STM motor supports Movie Servo AF mode on particular camera models with nearly silent focusing.  A redesigned exterior includes an all metal lens bayonet for secure mounting and Canon has moved the focus ring for a very compact overall design.  Ideal for practically all shooting situations and conditions, the 50mm EF f/1.8 is a must have for any photographer.
